Hurry! Tickets are selling fast for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

“The world’s greatest flower show will be held for the first time ever in September with the usual cutting-edge garden design, fabulous floral displays and simply the best shopping!”

After much disappointment with the cancellation of last year show, the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea is scheduled to run from 21-26 September this year, and ticket availability is limited. Mandatory pre-booking remains in place, and those wishing to visit the Gardens must book a time slot online in advance.

From gorgeous garden designs to wildly imaginative floral art and cultural pavilions, to a marketplace, lectures, sensory gardens, and historic displays, the show is considered one of the world’s premier gardening spectacles.

The show itself began in 1862, but it was in 1913 that it first landed in Chelsea. Three of the firms which were at that inaugural showcase still participate to this day — Kelways, McBean’s Orchids, and Blackmore and Langdon. Throughout her reign, it has been an opening day tradition for Queen Elizabeth to visit.

The stately, 66-acre grounds are home to some 300 “Chelsea Pensioners,” distinguished, red-coated veterans of the British military who, in gratitude for their service, are provided care according to a tradition that dates back to King Charles II in 1692.
